Item Description
7/8" featuring a high contrast portrait of the legendary Louisiana politician nicknamed "The Kingfish." Long was unsuccessful in the 1924 gubernatorial race but rallied the working class around his populist message to win the 1928 campaign. This button was likely produced for his inauguration. What appears to be two marks near outer edge at 10 o'clock are in the printing of the real photo image. Light surface wear in reflected light. Exc. as made. All material related to Long is scarce and this is the first example of this impressive button we've encountered in our 55 years. Larry Brokofsky Collection.
