Item Description
2.75" tall silvered brass w/wrapped cello made by American Art Works, Coshocton, O. (our one other safe example was from Detroit sample room and bowling alley but on that maker's name is Meek Co. also Coshocton, O). Reverse text side names firm plus their slogan while front side has wonderful depiction of full figure nude woman on a rock at water's edge with rays of light emanating from her raised hands. Image is perhaps meant to represent Amphitrite the Greek goddess of the sea and wife of Poseidon. Superb color. A stock design but scarce. We've also seen two different mirrors of this design. Front has tiny tone on upper corners. Reverse has tan tone near edges and where cello sheet meets on side edge there is a very narrow slight gap but the overlap remains tightly sealed. VF. Rare.
