Item numbers 955 through 2671 in auction 190
Item Description
15.5x30x5" box contains prototype six-piece gun set. One side of box has fully painted art with some glued-on text panels. Two side panels also have die-cut original art pasted on as well as text. Smaller gun illustrations are in black and white on one side and full color on the other. All illustrate the various forms this gun set could take including pistol, sub-machine gun, bush gun, and long range rifle. Die-cut side of box continues these original art panels glued on as well as lettering, some of which has fallen off but present. The gun part text labels on this die-cut side are all here and mention technical name for all parts such as four stock barrel extension, missile launcher barrel, grenade, etc. One of the four hand-done illustrations of these assembled guns is missing from this die-cut panel and there are also penciled notation to name the style of gun. Box is fine overall and unique. Gun parts themselves have small scuffs and scrapes, probably done at the factory when assembling these prototypes in different configurations. VF. Comes with letter signed by Gene Scala. Scala was one of the group who bought out the Marx warehouse when it closed in the 70s.
