Item Description
This collection of strips has been preserved in a rather unusual way as they are mounted in a large wallpaper sample book. This is 14x18x2.5" deep with cover reading "Pan-American Wallpaper & Paint Co." The book contains over 500 Buck daily strips mounted 4 or 5 to a page. This includes a run of the first 29 strips including the very first strip from January 7, 1929. Each strip is numbered with the last strip in this collection "617" so only about 100 are missing from the first 600 plus strips. Also included in this book are multiple pages of Tailspin Tommy and Highlights of History strips. As to be expected with this type of sample book, it has noticeably aged, margin wear with tears and chipping, heavy cover soiling, etc. The strips have typical aging and light wear as mounted but overall remain an incredibly impressive and extensive collection.
