Item Description
This bank came in several different varieties, this version is by Mitsuhashi, Japan, 1960s. Bank is 3x7x2.5" tall, nearly all tin litho and comes in box w/nicely illustrated lid. Lid includes illustrations of skeleton w/coins, spider webs and bats. Lt. edge wear, some small color rubs but VF. One of the more common versions of this bank has a cloth cover over the skeleton's body. This version has tin litho cover and design includes image of skeleton's body w/separate cover over his head, also featuring skull image. Sides feature spider webs plus title "Coffin Bank Mysterious-Hilarious Laughs-Fun." Toy has built-in key and works. When a lever on one side is pressed, a green plastic hand pops up to retrieve the coin followed by plastic skull popping up and peeking out. Minor scattered paint nicks. Glossy and Exc.
