Item Description
15/16" (24mm). White metal. Unlisted in DeWitt. King-878 where he suggests the mysterious "25" could indicate this to be a private issue pattern quarter. This is supported by the fact that motto "In God We Trust" debuted in 1864, though the higher relief of the portrait would make this ineffective as a coin. Verso has perched eagle w/wings spread and small text "For Ever Inseparable" at center. Attractive light pewter gray patina w/lighter areas outlining text on obverse. Overall only light wear. Extremely Fine. Rarely offered.
