Item Description
1.25" w/"American Tinplate Made By Norton Bros. Chicago" embossed on reverse. Domed center portrait. Scattered dots of missing paint most notably one tiny pinpoint at top right of portrait otherwise these are contained to the outer edges. Extremely Fine. Retains original horizontal safety pin on reverse. Often considered the first modern campaign button and certainly a harbinger of the celluloid covered button introduced four years later.
