Item Description
11.25x17.5". Board stock. In 1950 when Washington Post music critic Paul Hume wrote an unfavorable review of Margaret Truman's singing abilities, the President sent a letter that read "Some day I hope to meet you. When that happens you'll need a new nose, a lot of beefsteak for black eyes and perhaps a supporter below." After Hume was persuaded not to publish the letter in the Washington Post, he leaked it to rival paper The Times sparking a minor scandal for Truman. Margaret's portrait on striking blue invokes sheet music design and advertises a Nov. 2nd concert at Memorial Hall. Corner, edge and vertical creases w/marks. VG.
