Item Description
7/8" mount, 1.5" wire pin. Issued by the militant British group founded by Emmeline Pankhurst. The group is noted for their direct action campaign and prison hunger strikes. They had a critical influence on American members Alice Paul and Lucy Burns who applied their experiences in Britain to the American suffrage movement. Stylized letters "WSPU" curling around a "Votes For Women" banner at center w/soft hints of green. Patent mark reverse. Spot at 10 o'clock, two others bottom right in the letters. Very clean, Exc. Rare example.
