.75" w/Chicago back paper. This slogan button is believed to derive from ocean liner policy of "Women And Children First" in the event of a catastrophic event. The news of sinking of the Titanic in 1912 was capitalized upon by anti-suffrage groups arguing that this preference was an example of how men protected the weaker sex similar to the taking on of the burdensome obligations of government. Suffragists countered that women had not requested this treatment and that they should be afforded equal bias w/male passengers. Only light wear from minimal use. Exc.
