Item Description
9.5x15x4" deep cardboard box w/illustrated box label contains complete Mattel game. ©1977 Toho Co. Ltd. Box label features large image of Godzilla crunching spaceship in his jaws w/inset scene of children playing game. Box has original store price sticker on left side panel and shows just lt. aging/wear. Box is Exc. Contents include "Space" Base" w/built-in "Space Spinner" and revolving "Space Platform" that would hold figural plastic spaceship playing pieces. These remain unused and still on their original sprues. As "Space Platform" was moved in accordance w/"Space Spinner" directions, spaceships would advance until spring-loaded Godzilla would emerge from within "Space Base" to snatch up unlucky spaceship in his jointed jaws. Godzilla works well and quickly darts forward as roaring noise is produced. Labels shows little to no wear, w/only some lt. wear to back edges of Godzilla's jaws. Comes w/evenly aged instruction sheet. Game is working and Exc., old store stock. Rarely seen high grade example of this great 1970s Godzilla game.
