Item Description
14x21.5x1.5" deep box contains complete parts for this unusual game by Gardner Games, 1950s. Game is battery operated and of same design as electric quiz games of the time period. Box reads "Your Geiger Counter Lights And Buzzes Your Way To Fun And Fortune" while the large instruction sheet reads "The Prospector With The Most Money In His Possession When All Claims Have Been Staked Wins The Game." Lid has scattered lt. trace of aging, one corner split w/tape repair on inside. Box is Fine. Box insert serves as the game board and has nicely illustrated paper label w/overhead view of "Purple Mountains, Green Hill Country And Sandy Desert." Under the paper label is a foil covering. The battery operated geiger counter is a 5.5" tall cardboard tube, complete w/light bulb mechanism although this has surface oxidation and the tube has shunk a bit so we have not tested it as batteries would not be able to be removed if placed inside. Geiger counter has an attached wire w/metal tip that is to be placed on one of the many diecut mines and if uranium is found, a light bulb lights. Other parts include illustrated spinner, cards, play money and an unopened pack of wood pegs for "Staking A Claim." Contents are Exc.
