Item Description
9x12.5x2" deep cardboard box w/illustrated lid contains four-piece nice quality outfit. © Superman, Inc., 1950s. Size is medium (8 to 10). All-cotton suit consists of shirt, cape and pants plus home-made yellow material over leather belt. Shirt has silk-screened "S" chest emblem and along front bottom edge is small image of Superman and boy wearing the Superman outfit w/"Remember-This Suit Won't Make You Fly-Only Superman Can Fly" text, a preventative warning. Shirt has scattered moderate aging/tanning w/small piece repair at neck. VG. Cape is VG as folded. Pants have heavy aging/wear and one leg is effectively missing but lower red "boot" cuff is included. Poor. Homemade belt appears to have similar vintage yellow material and just comes along. Box has lt. aging/wear and displays as VF. Missing comic book that came w/suit. David Barsalou Collection.
