Item Description
1.25" single-day event item from 1969. According to reporting on the protests by the San Angelo Standard-Times a day after the demonstration, the march covered 36 blocks w/an estimated 900 demonstrators, many of whom were soldiers from Fort Hood. One protestor, a former Army medical doctor who was court-martialed for dereliction of duty, stated, "Mr. Nixon shouldn't worry about being the first President to lose a war-but should be worried about being the first President to lose the Army." Retains vibrant color w/only minor surface wear in reflected light. Exc.
