Item Description
2.25" w/"Wendell's Inc., MPLS" on curl and union bug at 6 o'clock. HHH was defeated in the 1943 Mayoral election, his first campaign for electoral office. He returned in 1945 winning the race after successfully ousting a Communist contingency from the Democratic Farm Labor Party (DFL). This button from his 1947 campaign helped push him to the largest margin of victory then seen in the history of the city's mayoral election contests. Has scattered air marks that likely occurred during production, otherwise moderate surface wear. Exc. as made. A great early career item from the future Vice President and 1968 Democratic nominee.
