Item Description
7.5x11.25x6" tall complete assembled model w/professional paint job. This is one of the built-up kits issued directly by Aurora to stores for promotional purposes. ©1965. Model features partial boxing ring, showing referee observing Luis Firpo punching Jack Dempsey, the punch resulting in Dempsey flying through the ropes. The Sept. 14, 1923 bout in New York City saw Firpo challenge Dempsey for the world heavyweight championship, w/Dempsey ultimately retaining his title. The fight is regarded by critics and experts as one of the great boxing matches in history. Lt. wear. Exc. These store display models are rare.
