Item Description
6" w/cardboard insert and horizontal bar pin. Utilizing the same portrait and elephant graphic as the 1960 litho Hake #23 but here as a massive cello w/boldly printed slogan above. Tiny trapped speck on the "A" of "Match" as made and a crimping error at 3 o'clock not affecting display. Diagonal scratch in lower left field and scattered surface indentation in reflected light. Extremely Fine. While we have encountered a similar 6" dia. "Match Him" portrait button, it featured arching text and did not have the elephant emblem. This is the only example of this design known to us and was recently discovered at the grassroots level. Likely produced prospectively as a sample that was never ordered for production. An important opportunity for advanced Nixon specialists and generalist alike.
