Item Description
The Duncan Sisters appeared in these signature roles in a 1923 musical comedy derived from the novel Uncle Tom's Cabin. They began their stage career in 1911 and were stars on the vaudeville circuit as well as in night clubs and on stage in both New York and London. "Topsy & Eva" was a huge hit and inspired a 1927 silent movie that included some scenes by famed director D.W. Griffith. Both pieces are real photos without dot screen. The smaller at 1.75" we've seen before as a pin-back but this is our first as a pocket mirror. The second at 2.25" is only our second example. Both are glossy and NM. Alan Weinberg Collection.
