Item Description
2.25". Only trivial wear seen under magnification. Glossy. NM.  Scarce. Produced for Clinton's career saving appearance on the iconic late night talk show in 1988 after a disastrous rambling speech introducing Democratic nominee Michael Dukakis at the DNC. When Clinton was selected to deliver a DNC opening night speech introducing a national audience to the 1988 Democratic nominee, Michael Dukakis, it was supposed to be a career enhancing moment but Clinton delivered a meandering speech that drug on twice the length of his allotted 15 minutes. He immediately became the target of jokes by late night talk show hosts including Johnny Carson. Attempting to mitigate the damage ten days after his speech Clinton appeared as a guest on the July 28 program joking about his jeered speech and playing the saxophone with the Tonight Show Band. The move worked and helped catapult him along the path to the eventual 1992 Democratic nomination.
