Item Description
1.25"w/seldom seen back paper of "Garrison/Wash. D.C." Muchinsky notes this button cannot be unequivocally attributed to Dempsey-Tunney I (1926) or Dempsey-Tunney II (1927). However, since Dempsey (the reigning champ in 1926) is positioned above Tunney, he gives the edge to 1926. Just the slightest age trace on white background (mostly at center, far right) plus a pinpoint surface nick of black edge at 8 o'clock. Reverse has hairline cello split by collet likely as made and just barely visible on closest viewing. Great gloss and almost no additional surface wear. One known to us. Rare. Paul Muchinsky Collection book photo example #79.
