Item Description
First is 5/8" "Official Souvenir" button with accent bow of celluloid by W&H suspending 1.25" brass medallion showing the boxers in "Oil City/Shelby Mont. July 4, 1923/Championship Dempsey- Gibbons". Blank reverse. NM. Rare. Next are two similar 1-3/8" brass medallions from 1924. These are titled "Jack Dempsey Luck Piece" and promote a series of Universal movies titled "Fight And Win". On the first (upper right) the thumbs of the boxing gloves carry tiny text "Frank Surz" and on the back the quotes around "Fight And Win" are shaped like kites, plus back bottom edge names "Greenduck Co. Chi." This one is Exc. The variety (lower left) has gloves with no name, back quotes of standard shape and no maker name. This is VF. Last and c. 1940s is 1" button by Bastian for his bar and restaurant located in the Vanderbilt Hotel on Collins Avenue, Miami Beach. Rust spot on metal back and cello has long horizontal crack, barely seen, below his name. Clean and glossy. VG. Paul Muchinsky Collection with first and last as book photo examples #66 and #91.
