Item Description
1.25" w/metal covered back, vertical stickpin and stamp of the maker first used in 1899 (and until 1907). This is a rarely used but stock design offered by the button maker to potential advertisers. The only example we've seen with advertising is a self promotion button naming St. Louis Button Co. with their street address. We've seen three of those in our 55 years, but this is the first 1.25" without text which indicates use by salesmen to solicit orders. Left hat brim has tiny, same color as hat, dirt speck trapped under the cello which is near invisible but makes barely felt 1/16" bump. One known. NM as made.
