Auction 191 - Part I
Item numbers 1 though 954 in auction 191
Item Description
15/16" ferrotype from 1868 with purple velvet rim. Rim is missing about 35% of the plush nap but all areas of rim retain purple color. Stickpin is mounted to closely matching but more maroon color fabric which is Mint. Ferrotype displays Mint with just six tiny dot marks that are extremely trivial and all but invisible to the naked eye. First we've seen with original silk cockade and ribbons of this large size. VF overall and very attractive. From the Philip G. Straus collection.
