Item Description
2.75x4.5" on card stock. Delegate's ticket from the 1872 convention held in Baltimore. Dated July 9, 1872 w/"Frederick O. Prince, Secretary National Democratic Committee" printed at bottom right corner. Back has mosaic-style design w/text reading "N.D.C. 1872". About eight pin holes along the left side of the ticket. Otherwise some edge creasing and moderate wear w/some light age toning. VG. Rare. Greeley was nominated at both the Liberal Republican and Democratic Party conventions, but was handily defeated by U.S. Grant in the election. Greeley died just a few weeks after.
