Item Description
Several different "I'm Rooting For" buttons were made during his rookie season.
This version is 1.75". No maker. Spring pin holds ribbon and plastic bat on a chain. Photo image includes Jackie in Dodgers uniform with the top of the team name letters on his jersey visible. Jackie Robinson made his Major League debut on April 15, 1947 for Branch Rickey's Brooklyn Dodgers, becoming the first African American ballplayer in the modern Major Leagues. Robinson would go on to win the National League Rookie of the Year award in 1947 and would follow that up with an NL MVP award two years later, in 1949.
