Item Description
Gold heart shaped pendant 1-1/8" across and 1.5" tall with front oval dome holding deep blue stone all in the same design as the World Series ring received by players but this was for wives. Front bottom tip stamped "Dieges & Clust 14K". Comes on unmarked chain, the pendant without chain, but with stone, weighs .58 ounces. Back reads "1955 Dodgers". The 1955 Brooklyn Dodgers won the National League pennant with a final record of 98-55 under future National Baseball Hall of Fame manager Walter Alston. The offense was led by the HOF quartet of: Roy Campanella, Jackie Robinson, Duke Snider and Pee Wee Reese. The mound corps was headed by Hall of Fame starter Sandy Koufax and former Negro League ace, Don Newcombe. The Dodgers would go on to defeat the powerhouse New York Yankees in seven exciting games to take the 1955 World Series. Shows only a trace of wear upon close inspection. Bright luster. Exc. Rare. We sold the Paul Muchinsky Collection example in our Feb. 2021 auction for $2,855.
