Item Description
Nice quality outfit by A.S. Fishbach and sold at Macy's as well as being offered as a Gum Inc. premium. 1940. Two versions of the shirt were produced, both w/sleeves and sleeveless. This is sleeveless version; marked "Size 10" on worn collar tag; 18" wide at armpits by 17" tall. "S" emblem w/"Superman" name silk-screened design on chest. .5x1" hole on back at collar. Scattered aging/staining on front w/a few small snags. Scattered wear to silk-screening. VG overall. Elastic band pants are 10" wide at waist and 26.5" long. Waistband tag present but heavily worn. Front features great silk-screened design depicting Superman's trunks and legs w/additional images at waist area of two different full body Superman poses and belt w/pair of "S" accents. Pants have some lt. aging but silk-screening shows just lt. wear. VF overall. Missing original plain red drawstring cape issued w/playsuit. Among the rarest and nicest of all Superman playsuits and one of only a few we've offered in our 55 years.
