Item Description
14-1/8x22" window card by Globe Poster Corp. advertises March 11, 1959 event held in Toledo, OH at the Toledo Sports Arena. Advertised as "Wilt (The Stilt) Chamberlain," Chamberlain's 7'1" stature was certainly a draw. Chamberlain joined the Globetrotters in 1958 as he awaited NBA eligibility. He would enter the NBA in Oct. 1959 and would go on to be a 2-time World Champion, 4-time NBA MVP, 13-time All-Star, 7-time Scoring Leader and 11-time Rebounding Leader. Chamberlain was elected to the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 1979. Window card features Willard Mullin art, depicting four Globetrotters, two lifting a third into the air. Chamberlain has boldly signed in blue felt tip pen at lower left. Window card has some scattered margin age spotting and center right margin has faint .5" spot of moisture staining. .75" line of ink at lower right, below one Globetrotter's foot. Back has some mounting residue along margins, which does not affect front's display. Still VF overall and an amazing example of a scarce item, rarely seen signed by Chamberlain. Comes with Hake's COA and JSA LOA.
