According to the Lancaster New Era, Roosevelt said of the parade, "Southern California, as I have seen it, is a marvelous country, truly marvelous. In my receptions so far in California there has always been novelty. The parade this afternoon was one of the most interesting I ever saw, and that of tonight afforded me keen delight".
