Item Description
2-1/8x3-1/8". The 1952 Bowman set consists of 252 cards. Each card front shares similarities with the 1951 Bowman entry, with a color art reproduction of a player photograph and facsimile autograph on the front. The set has many future HOF'ers but is anchored by cards of Mickey Mantle and Willie Mays.  Though the set is without any known variations or scarcities, the low numbers (#s 1-217) are somewhat easier to secure than the high numbers (#s 218-252).

Orestes "Minnie" Minoso, nicknamed "The Cuban Comet" and "Mr. White Sox", was a Cuban professional baseball player. He began his baseball career in the Negro leagues in 1946 and became an All-Star third baseman with the New York Cubans. He was signed by the Cleveland Indians of Major League Baseball (MLB) after the 1948 season as baseball's color line fell. Minoso went on to become an All-Star left fielder with the Indians and Chicago White Sox. The first Afro-Latino in the major leagues and the first black player in White Sox history, as a 1951 rookie he was one of the first Latin Americans to play in an MLB All-Star Game. Some career highlights include being a nine time All-Star, a three time Gold Glove winner and a three time AL stolen base leader. Minnie Minoso was inducted into the National Baseball Hall Of Fame posthumously in 2022.
