Item Description
22.5x28.5". Listed in Collins Threads of History as plate 118 on p. 97. Portrait of candidate in General's uniform w/log cabin and waving "Harrison & Tyler" American flag vignette at center below portrait. Harrison's blue coat draws the eye contrasting the trio of brown shades and yellow used in the printed borders and accenting candidate's coat. A few minor vertical fabric pulls, scattered small holes and typical faint moisture staining in cream background. Fine. Only the third known to us. An amazing survivor of the 1840 Whig campaign and an outstanding display piece from this pivotal election.
