Item Description
2.5x3.5". The 1957 Topps Baseball set consists of 407 cards and marked the first year the company would use the now-standard measurement for cardboard collectibles. The 1957 Topps also switched to full color images (either bust portraits or in-action poses) in lieu of handpainted black-and-white photos on the front, with his name and team printed across the bottom, and statistical data on the reverse. Unlike similar Topps entries, the scarcities lie not in the high numbers but in the second of the set's three series - #s 265-352 - and four unnumbered checklist cards printed with one of two different product advertisements on the back.

Theodore Samuel Williams was an American professional baseball player and manager. He played his entire 19-year Major League Baseball (MLB) career, primarily as a left fielder, for the Boston Red Sox from 1939 to 1960; his career was interrupted by military service during World War II and the Korean War. Nicknamed "Teddy Ballgame", "the Kid", "the Splendid Splinter", and "The Thumper", Williams is regarded as one of the greatest hitters in baseball history and to date is the last player to hit over .400 in a season. Some of his many career highlights include being a 19 time All-Star, two time MVP and two time Triple Crown winner. Ted Williams was inducted into the National Baseball Hall Of Fame in 1966.
