Item Description
2.25" w/concave metal back and horizontal bar pin. Dated "Nov. 5, 1960". Nixon addressed a large crowd who came out despite some rain to hear the GOP candidate only three days before the historic 1960 election. Scattered mottling a result of the paper used in manufacturing. Otherwise only moderate wear from limited use. Extremely Fine. Discovered by John Hillhouse at a California flea market ages ago, this is the only example known to us and is likely unique to the organized hobby. John Hillhouse Collection.

Nixon spent the day traveling through Hayward, Oakland, Van Nuys and Los Angeles. The San Jose event was not without some controversy as a security breach allowed a group of protestors to pelt the Vice President's car with stones and eggs. Nixon parlayed the unfortunate happening into his later speeches asking crowds to "Draw The Line" against the "Thug" demonstrators by voting Republican.
