Item Description
8.5x11". Eugene Debs letterhead from Terre Haute, IN. Dated December 15, 1906. Addressed to "Messrs. McClure, Phillips & Co." In the letter, Debs thanks the subject for sending a copy of "In The Fire Of The Heart" by Ralph Waldo Trine. Debs states, "I shall with pleasure give the book careful reading at my very earliest opportunity and feel assured that I shall find it both interesting and profitable." Bottom reads "Very Truly Yours" w/Debs' signature below. Vertical and horizontal folds. Even age toning w/moderate surface wear and handling, most notably an adhesive mark on the left side, just left of the signature below the contents of the letter. Some ink bleeding on the date in the upper right corner. Fine. An interesting document w/ the signature of the perennial Socialist presidential candidate in between his 1904 and 1908 campaigns. Comes w/Hake's COA and JSA LOA.
