Item Description
9" long. Features a large portrait of the Great Compromiser in the center w/text below him reading "The Fearless Friend Of His Country's Rights". Ribbon produced for the Young Men's National Whig Convention of Ratification, held in Baltimore on May 2, 1844. Vignettes above and below Clay, at the top a scene of an American eagle on a patriotic shield, while below is a scene of a farmer and his horses plowing a field. Highlighting both industry and agriculture. Scattered fainted staining w/areas of thinness in ribbon and some vertical pulls along the top edge. Otherwise moderate wear and handling. Fine. Colorful design sure to stand out in any Clay display.
