Item Description
1.75" w/A. M. Blake Kansas City on curl. Trace of light brown age just below Bryan's right shoulder and tiny bump along the curl at 6 o'clock that is trivial and mentioned only for extreme accuracy. Light surface wear in reflected light. Still Exc. Choice for display. An impressive Bryan rarity. The depiction on this button is an illustration inspired by a line from Bryan's speech before the Governor's Conference that made it into the 1908 Democratic platform where it read  "There Is No Twilight Zone Between The Nation And The State In Which Exploiting Interests Can Take Refuge From Both; And It Is As Necessary That The Federal Government Shall Exercise The Powers Delegated To It As It Is That The State Governments Shall Use The Authority Reserved To Them; But We Insist That Federal Remedies For The Regulation Of Interstate Commerce And For The Prevention Of Private Monopoly Shall Be Added To, Not Substituted For, State Remedies." Larry Brokofsky Collection.
