Item Description
Lot of three 6.5x9.75" pulps w/128 pages. Published bi-monthly by Weird Tales. Includes Vol. 35 #1-3, Jan., March, May 1940. #1 features a cover of leopard monster attacking woman, #2 features fire woman amidst demons/monsters, #3 features woman being snatched up by bat/man creature as pygmies, one w/snake, attack. #1 has 1.5" tear at bottom left corner and some lt. handling wear. Pages are lt. cream-colored and supple. VF. #2 has 1" and 3" tears at bottom left corner at spine and .25x.5" and .25x.25" sections of surface paper lifting at date on spine. Pages are cream-colored, all intact but slightly brittle. Some lt. handling wear, .25" triangular tear at bottom right corner and 1/8" triangular tear on fire woman's thigh. Cover image is bright and beautiful. Also has a verse by H. P. Lovecraft. Fine. #3 has a .75" tear at middle at spine on front cover, two smaller tears measuring .25" and .5" at right middle of front cover and left bottom corner toward spine. Back cover has two 1" tears at bottom right corner toward spine and a 4.5" moderate diagonal crease in bottom left corner. Pages are cream-colored and slightly brittle. Beautiful cover is very bright and vibrant, issue is overall tight and very clean. Also has a story by Robert Bloch. VF to Exc.
