Item Description
4.5" overall w/ 1.75" octagonal "gold slug" imitation badge. Produced by Irvine & Jachens. Hanger features the Golden Bear, the symbol of California. Reverse of badge reads "Democratic National Convention St. Louis, MO., June 14, 1916. Some minor fraying on the ribbon, otherwise only light surface wear and handling. Extremely Fine. Badge featured an eagle and shield design and was meant to imitate the gold slugs originally made from California gold in the mid-1800s.
