Item Description
Each is 7/8". First from 1928 is "Mighty". A Universal guide to motion picture exhibitors c. 1927-28 mentions this as a set of 10 but without naming the animals depicted. This appears to be our first elephant which is unlisted in the 2008 edition of Hake's Pop Culture Guide. This button has its Phila. Badge back paper. Likewise the 1929 "Tiger" button is not one of the 15 known animals named in the Hake Guide. The ostrich looking bird, w/no back paper raises the number known to 16. The first has very faint tone on upper edge, the second is totally clean and both have high gloss. Both rare.
