Item Description
1-7/16" tall oval with ribbon design bearing the slogan around center profile image of "Liberty". Listed in DeWitt/Sullivan as 1868-87 and Sullivan noted the Democratic Platform of 1868 charged that the Republican Party has subjected ten southern states to "Negro Supremacy" and demanded the abolition of  "All Political Instruments Designed To Secure Negro Supremacy". In the Sept 5, 1868 issue of Harper's Weekly, Thomas Nast published a cartoon with the title "This Is A White Man's Government". Retains stickpin on reverse. Moderate wear and handling. VF. Rare.
