Item Description
10.5x13.5" on thick stock. Pictured are Roosevelt at top, Marvin McIntyre on right, Stephen Early at bottom, and Louis Howe on left, all advisors of FDR.  Light surface wear, mostly relegated to bottom left corner. Extremely Fine. Bachelder was afflicted w/polio and met FDR during a 1925 visit to the natural spa at Warm Springs, Georgia. Her first evening there she and FDR were paired as bridge partners. An immediate friendship began leading her to work at the White House when he became President where she continued as a secretary until the LBJ presidency. She was present in Warm Springs at the time of FDR's death. Comes w/Hake's COA and JSA LOA. Also included are two signed unrelated letters from Marvin McIntyre to an Ethel Waters Hegelon on July 5, 1943, and to a Miss Walters on February 14, 1930.
