Item Description
6x9x1.5" illustrated cardboard box w/die-cut display main panel contains complete set of six tin of "One Hour Humbrol Plastic Enamel" paints and paintbrush for use in painting Aurora monster models. Set #626-98. ©1963. Box text reads "Basic Monster Colors - Use Them Direct From Cans Or Mix-'Em For Weird Effects." Colors match lid color and include - "Bloody Red, Tombstone White, Ghoulish Yellow, Midnight Black, Deadly Blue" and #26 brown as "Surprise 6th Color". Does not include generic paint brush. Insert has spot of surface paper loss from pulling dried paint off. Still displays VG. Box shows heavy scattered wear w/creases and small tears to intricate die-cut tree branch design, which has moderate aged tape repairs inside of box on main panel over bkg. image of haunted house. This same image appears on box's back main panel. Box has some scattered corner tip wear and color rubs, creasing, one inner end flap barely attached. Missing window. Scattered color touches. VG overall. Some paint tins have paint around lids, but are VF overall. Comes w/8.5x11" color wheel chart w/ideas for mixing paints. Sheet includes photo illustration of Aurora's Frankenstein model kit as well as illustrated images of other Universal Monsters model kits. Folded as issued. Some minor insect damage mostly on one edge. Displays VG. Very rare and a must-have for Aurora collectors. Greg Roccaro Collection.
