Item Description
196-page comic published by Fawcett Publications in 1942. Features several different stories about different characters: Spy Smasher, Nyoka, Lance O'Casey, Ibis, Golden Arrow, and focusing mainly on Captain Marvel. First page has brief origin of Captain Marvel and previews of four stories in book. Title page has statement from Fawcett listing "Editorial Advisory Board" members Eleanor Roosevelt, Rear Admiral Richard E. Byrd and Dr. Dafoe (Dionne Quintuplets' doctor). Some heavy handling wear, creases, pinch creases to spine, some color rubs to cover, 10.75" vertical crease through middle of front cover, 3/8x.5" tape repair to bottom right corner, two areas of surface paper lifting that have had restoration-lower half of Captain Marvel's face and bkg. area at waist. .25x3/8" tape repair to upper right corner, .75x1.5" tape repair to top left corner which wraps around onto back cover. Cover has inking w/name at top above title and "Do Not Use With Dirty Hands-Super Duper Man." Pages are off-white and supple. Pages have some .25x.5" to .5x.75" tape repairs and a 3.5x4.5" area of penciling on title paper and 6.5x9.5" area of penciling on interior page. As this comic is essentially three normal-sized comics combined into one full size comic, first section has some paper tears at staple. Pages are Fine+ to VF. Front cover is Good+, back cover is VG+.
