7/8" w/ "National Equipment Co." back paper. Cannon is considered one of the most dominant Speakers of the House in U.S. history. He was part of the "Old Guard" Republicans who were opposed to Teddy Roosevelt's Progressives. He was one of the leading contenders for the GOP nomination in 1908, but lost to Roosevelt's ally and hand-picked successor, William Howard Taft. Only light wear in reflected light. Exc.
