Item Description
7/8" w/ W&H back paper. Only minor surface wear. NM. Democratic hopeful in 1920 and 1924, also Wilson's Secretary of the Treasury and Senator 1933-1938. McAdoo was the leading contender in 1924, and was pitted against Al Smith for the nomination. After 100 unsuccessful ballots in the most contested convention in American history, McAdoo and Smith both withdrew their names from consideration, and John W. Davis received the nomination as a compromise candidate.
