Item Description
9/16" w/ original shank on reverse. Features eagle motif on front w/ "Cold Water Army" in center. Surface scratches, most notably seen over "Water" and "Army" from center of button to edge at 4 o'clock. Otherwise moderate wear. Fine. The Cold Water Army was a temperance group aimed towards children established in 1839 by T. P. Hunt, a Presbyterian minister from Pennsylvania. The height of the movement occurred about 1843.
