Item Description
1" (25mm) brass shell. DeWitt 1864-94. Holed for suspension. Shell features "For President/Abraham Lincoln" above/below portrait that is flanked by a pair of shields. Verso has text "For Vice President Andrew Johnson" around circular portrait w/small text "Pat Aug. 12, 1862" along lower edge. Lincoln image has emulsion wear and some areas of loss obscuring image but remains easily identifiable as the 16th President. Johnson side has area of loss just left of portrait, as well as surface scratches amounting to moderate wear. Shell has wear from light circulation retaining nice luster. Overall Good.
