Item Description
Twenty three items in total. Included are portrait banners of JFK from his visit, one that waves the Irish and American flags on either side; five newspapers from June 27-29, 1963, from the Irish Times and other Irish publications; a vinyl record from Kennedy's address to the Irish government; postcards; a program from JFK's Joint Sitting of the Oireachtas; a souvenir magazine that includes JFK's itinerary while in Ireland; and a speech transcript from the conferring ceremony for Kennedy's honorary degree from the National University of Ireland. Also included are a sealed VHS tape, a booklet, and other ephemera commemorating Kennedy's visit. Large portrait banner is 34x44". Text above portrait reads "Cead Mile Failte" which translates to "100,000 Welcomes" in Gaelic. Moderate handling, most notably a few faint stains, particularly below the Irish flag. VF. Smaller souvenir banner is 19.5x30" on Irish woven linen. Bold color w/only trivial wear. NM. Newspapers each have moderate wear w/aging and some light edge wear. Fine to VF. Light surface wear and handling on other items. Unless noted specifically above, conditions range from VF to Exc.
