Item Description
8x10". Dated June 29, 1846. Thomas Corwin was a U.S. Senator from Ohio at the time, and went on to serve as the U.S. Minister of Mexico as well as the Secretary of the Treasury under Fillmore and Pierce. Corwin was an opponent of the Mexican American War. Letter regarding the war w/Mexico, including the belief that "a peace will be brought about within the next three months between us and Mexico." Some age toning, most notably along left and right edges, as well as faint stain along right edge near the bottom. Otherwise moderate handling. Fine. Comes w/JSA LOA.
