Item Description
1" (25mm) long. Listed as DeWitt 1832-7, but w/matching John Q. Adams and Daniel Webster examples known to exist, these are almost undoubtedly from the 1828 campaign. Similar Washington & Lafayette examples were also produced, see previous lot for Washington. Chip of missing glass between 7-8 o'clock but this does not go down to the paper and has minimal affect on display. Missing original T-bar pin on verso. Gilt frame remains bright w/minimal wear. Portrait is crisp w/attractive hand colored background. Technically Fine but displaying above grade. Material from the 1828 campaign is scarce and this badge is among the most attractive small artifacts.
